holding space for the youngest voices
There are many reasons children and adolescents may need therapeutic support in their young lives. I provide a space where children can explore their worries, process their experiences, own their behavior and find their voice.
As a parent, I know how difficult it is to take the next step in asking for help for your child. Many times children need support from a different source. I don’t show up as a teacher, or a parent or an aunt. When working with children I create an environment that is different than how they generally experience time with adults. I am not there to teach children but more to give them the space to explore their true feelings, to gain a greater sense of self and to get to know each part of themselves and how they want to show up in the world. When working with children, we create a space of healing using play therapy techniques, expressive arts and spontaneous imaginary creativity. I support your son or daughter as they learn to trust themselves, to reconnect with their inner knowing and then to explore how they want to connect with the world that honors more of who they are and what they believe in.
I am a mom of 24 years, I have been a teacher for 21, and am a baby brain researcher, and what I have learned along the way is that the wisdom of children is so often overlooked that their own intuition gets lost in the sea of what others require of them to belong and to fit in. When we as humans can connect within, than we can connect without. To create a better connection with your children, a better connection between your child and those in their environment, to help them connect in a way where they don’t have to use their behavior as the main way to communicate, we have to support them in connecting within first. In working with children, I partner with you as their parent/parents to create a space to help them follow their heart , to support them in healing their hurts and communicate who they are with the world.
